Joe Sarapochillo, CFO

SK Builders' CFO, Joe Sarapochillo, offers clients decades of experience and expertise in construction management for commercial and industrial properties and developments.  Joe has the ability to clearly understand his clients’ vision and project scope, thoroughly assessing all potential problems with the design/build process, as well as proactively identifying and resolving gaps in project scope.  His commitment to value engineering guarantees that project goals are achieved efficiently, without compromising quality or scheduling. Joe conducts regularly scheduled value engineering sessions with each client throughout every phase of the project, from schematic design to development to construction documentation and building code compliance and confirmation.

Clients truly appreciate Joe’s ability to fast track projects and provide support to multiple contractors and subcontractors simultaneously, carefully balancing the needs and demands of all involved parties to ensure that projects stay on schedule and within established budget parameters. Additionally, he has earned the confidence of city officials and regulators who benefit from his in depth knowledge of building codes and the often laborious permitting process. As a result, Joe has garnered the respect of many local officials responsible for urban planning, zoning, and permitting.

Prior to opening SK Builders, Joe gained invaluable industry experience working in a number of senior level positions for prominent contracting firms and organizations, including:

  • Construction Manager for JKL Construction Services in San Mateo, California, from June 2006 through October 2007 where he was a construction manager at Genentech

  • Founder of Sarco Construction in 2006 with his brother Anthony Sarapochillo in Oakland, California, specializing in fast-track commercial tenant improvements.

  • Vice President of the Oakland Builders Alliance (OBA), a nonprofit organization and advocacy group that seeks to address the economic and environmental need for responsible real estate development in Oakland, from 2008 to present.

Joe attended Laney College in Oakland, California, earning a degree in Construction Management, as well as a degree in Humanities from City College of San Francisco.  He was a long-time resident of the Bay Area and has recently relocated to Escondido.
